March 1st, Saturday, 9am to 1pm ~ Saturday of Service will be in two locations. We will be returning to the Post Office and sprucing it up and we will also be working in the garden/bocce ball court in front of the Senior Center. Signs acknowledging Soroptimist International of Fort Bragg will be installed this year. There are many avid gardeners in our group and our committee would like to see as many members as possible participate.
We will have two teams who can meet at either location. The Post Office shouldn't take too long and that team will go up and help at the Senior when they are done at the Post Office. Please bring gloves, pruners, pruning shears and trowels.

Quilt Show - May 23-25 - Update: We are so excited about how things are shaping up for our upcoming quilt show. Brochures have gone out and we've had many responses already. If you didn't get a brochure, I will have them at Soroptimist and Quilt Club meetings. Hand them out to all of your friends. Or direct them to the Soroptimist website: soroptimistfortbraggca.org/quilt You can sign up for the workshops and enter your quilts all on line. All sponsors have been filled to off set many of our expenses. Get a copy of the local Mendocino Traveler and see the wonderful article/ad that is in the magazine. This magazine goes all over Northern California, so we are hoping for more entries from that. Our pins for the show are in and I will also have them at meetings for you to purchase. And don't forget we need to start selling the tickets for the Opportunity Quilt. I will have tickets for that at next meetings.
Thanks for all your help.

The Story of Stone Soup
Long ago in troubled times, people warily hid whatever they had. A wanderer coming into the village was told, "There is nothing for you here...move on."
"Oh, I have everything I need," he said. "In fact, I will make Stone Soup to share with all of you." He set up a pot of water over a fire and with great ceremony, dropped in an ordinary looking stone
By now, villagers had come out or watched from their windows. As the wanderer sniffed the "broth" and licked his lips, hunger began to overcome their skepticism. "Ahh," the man said to himself, "I do like a tasty stone soup. Of course, a bit of salt (garlic, potato, onion, etc) would make it
even better."
And over the day, villagers "found" little bits to add to the pot... and so on, until there was indeed a delicious meal for all. And everyone gathered to enjoy the soup, the villagers exclaimed to each other, "And to think, it was only made from a stone." EACH GIVING WHAT THEY CAN, A GREATER GOOD IS REALIZED.
