I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once.
~Jennifer Unlimited
Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did,
but backwards and in high heels.
~Faith Whittlese
Let us be grateful to people who make us happy;
they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued
is always just beyond your grasp,

"We come from the earth, we return to the earth,

I choose you in this
or any other language.
The frontiers we explore,
skin to skin
tracing
the known
against the unknown,
launching belligerent searches for truth,
sweated glasses of gin in hand.
My smallest safety
entrusted to my greatest risk.
by Cynthia Frank

Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand.
~Margery Williams The Velveteen Rabbit
She was always trying to be what her husband wished,

Service is devotion’s practical sister. She is a funny one, sort of austere and sensuous at the same time. She isn’t as stern as she was as a young child, and she is not in such a hurry but her intensity has not diminished at all. She has learned that seeds must be watered before they sprout. Some lie dormant for years. Shoots must be nurtured before bloom. We all work in different ways.
Sometimes we need to remind Service to take a vacation. She sees so much that needs to be done, and she forgets that she also needs to rest. In my opinion, Service would be a marvelous job counselor — if you can imagine the Employment Development Department hiring someone like her. She never asks you to do what you cannot do, but only what you most truly can do.
By J. Ruth Gendler

Christmas Eve was a night of song that wrapped itself about you like a shawl. But it warmed more than your body. It warmed your heart... filled it, too, with a melody that would last forever.
~Bess Streeter Aldrich

...when we finally know we are dying, and all other sentient beings are dying with us, we start to have a burning, almost heartbreaking sense of the fragility and preciousness of each moment and each being, and from this can grow a deep, clear, limitless compassion for all beings.
~Sogyal Rinpoche

Every woman should marry an archaeologist because she grows increasingly attractive to him as she grows increasingly to resemble a ruin.
~Agatha Christie
Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie.
~Jim Davis

I'll bet living in a nudist colony takes all the fun out of Halloween.
~Charles Swartz
Strangely enough, this is the past that somebody in the future
is longing to go back to. ~Ashleigh Brilliant
It may be the cock that crows,
but it is the hen that lays the eggs
~Margaret Thatcher
Thanks to my computer, I have now achieved a much higher state of disorganization.
~Ashleigh Brilliant
Life is the only game in which the object of the game is to learn the rules.
~Ashleigh Brilliant
"Senility Prayer" God grant me...
The senility to forget the people I never liked.
The good fortune to run into the ones that I do.
And the eyesight to tell the difference."
from Twila Ogletree
We were incompatible in a lot of ways. Like for example, I was a night person, and he didn't like me.
