July Lunch Meetings:

July 3......no one signed up for this date,  enjoy the day,  Happy 4th of July

July 10…. Dora Branesky

About 14 of us made it out to Dora's last week and had a good time just visiting with each other.  I will be in Taiwan at the SIA convention but will see you all the following week, with lots to tell about the trip.

July 17….Betty Humphrey

July 24…Holly Kuchar

A lucky 13 members met at Holly's last Thursday for lunch and getting to know each other better.  On the original schedule we were supposed to go to Betty Paddock's home this week.  Betty had to cancel because she will be in San Francisco waiting greet her 'adopted' Chinese son.  This is a young man she is sponsoring.  Lonna Oliver has graciously invited us to come to her home instead.

July 31….Lonna Oliver

Seven of us enjoyed lunch at Lonna's today for the last summer lunch.  The sun was out and it was beautiful.  Cindi brought Savannah with her and we all enjoyed her, she is so lively.  Next Thursday is out first Business Meeting.  Hope to see everyone there.

Marilou Brewer and Cynthia Frank are part of the cast for the Gloriana production of Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim - a fractured fairy tale with Sondheim's incredible music. Other cast members include: Robert Goleman, Sandy Glickfeld, Ana Lucas, Susan Parker, Patrick Gomes, David Woolis, Abigail Rowland, Paul Friesen, Brett Younger, and Nancy Paranka.

August 22 through September 28, 2008

Friday/Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday matinees at 3pm

From the composer of the award-winning musical and film Sweeny Todd comes this Tony-winning, fantastic, fractured fairy tale about a Baker and his wife, who've been cursed by the next door Witch to be childless. She'll let them out of it if they procure Red Riding Hood's cape, a tress of Rapunzel's hair, Jack's (of Beanstalk fame) milk-white cow, and Cinderella's gold slipper. So, off they go Into the Woods where they find "living happily ever after" not as easy as it sounds! With a cast of the finest singers and actors led by New York director Don Bovingloh (he directed 2006's Funny Girl). Songs include "Children Will Listen," "Giants in the Sky," "No One Is Alone," and "Agony." Irreverent, tongue-in-cheek. Not recommended for younger children.
